What to do before thinking about money?

You should consider the possibility of monetizing your blog only after you have established your blog somehow.

If you've just opened your blog and you have wallpaper with Google ads or affiliate products, or other things, I think we're wasting time. I think you should not.

I think first you should find out for yourself:

if you like what you're doing,

if you can do it if you get a few comments from people, or your friends after reading what you have

if you have visibility on major search engines, especially Google.

Or "if you write the theme of your latest article, you can find on Google in one of the first page?" And so on.

Once that happens, and therefore, once you start to have real traffic, you can then think of advertising.

And then if you are at least, I'd say about 500 to 1000 visitors per day, and talk about a specific topic for which there are a number of products and services, and companies that want to advertise and you can find them much earlier, even before the publication of your blog site, you should see some income in order ...

... if you're in a niche that has a good value might make a few tens of dollars per day: 10, 20, 30, 40, $ 50 per day or more.

Choose a Good Niche Market

Much depends on the subject on which you focus.

Some issues are more economic value than others, because the products and services are sold to people after they click on the ads are worth more money and generate more revenue to the companies than other products.

A bottle of Coca-Cola has little margin of income. A mortgage of a house has a huge margin over a very long time for anyone who sells it, just to give you a general idea.

Effort = Money

I would say that a blog works well prepared in a niche, and has some authority before putting ads in the best and right locations on the page, you must make at least 500 to $ 1000 per month to justify spending three to four hours day you might need.

Maybe even less in some cases, maybe a little more in some others. But that's the kind of number that tells me if it's worth spending more time on the blog or not.

If you do not make between 500-1000 dollars a month or you're doing something wrong in the way that you publish your blog, or your niche is not worth enough, or you need to understand better how to work your content and then learn how to write great titles, and the general appearance of the site so that Google search bots to index you better, and can be found by people searching for that subject.
